I changed my mind... April 2012 review

I decided that I would post my April/early May sessions together THEN I will blog about each individual session.

This was the time for maternity and newborns. I shot 3 newborns, 2 maternity, a glam session and a family session. I am proud of all these sessions and I am finally getting the hang of the newborn sessions.

My three newborns on order of their birth.

My glam session with sweet Liliana.

One of my favorite sessions EVER with sweet Madison.

I hope you all enjoyed my year of reviews. Next blog will be another newborn and a family of three.

Review of the past year #4 (this is the last one)

WOW! I have been very busy this year already and I know I have a lot left before I go on Maternity leave. That's right I am expecting my second baby and I am due on December 12, 2012 (12.12.12).

I started with an engagement session on a beautiful January day in Old Town Manassas. It was 70 in January.

This was also my first session with my new camera and new lens.

Next I had a newborn and family session which could've been better but it was VERY cold and icy out.

This was followed by a punk rock themed session with my nieces and nephew.

I did my first three boudoir sessions (one will not be posted).

...two more dress up glamor sessions and a punk session

...and I ended this quarter with a newborn session and a maternity session.

and of course...my son turned 18 months (1.5) so I updated his portraits.

Each blog post after this one will be on a session or weekly basis so keep following me for more GREAT pictures.

Have a wonderful weekend and take some pictures of your family.

Review of the past year #3 (Oct-Dec)

Good day fans! I was able to get quite a bit done this morning for our out of town guests coming next week for my husbands 30th birthday. So I decided I would post more of my favorites pictures from each sessions over the past year.

October, November and December were busy for me because I was trying to get in as many holiday sessions that I could, while spending time with my family and taking some leave to be able to spend the holidays with my son. I had the 12 days of Christmas giveaway and MANY of my clients won amazing deals and FREE sessions to be used over the next year. A lot of the winner have already claimed their discounts and some have their sessions scheduled for the next few months.

I started with a few family/children sessions and did my FIRST glamour session!

I was honored to shoot for my cousin Nick and his fiancee Tiffany's engagement pictures. I was even more thrilled when my picture was on a banner at their engagement party.

I also was asked to update my friends husband's Army portraits. He was in FULL uniform and was extremely handsome. I took a few of the two of them together as well. and this portrait still gives my goosebumps when I see it.

My friends twins turned two and this was my second attempt with twins...again it was difficult but not too bad.

The next set of portraits were ALL for the holidays.

Then I had my third wedding. My high school friend Bethany and her husband Brian. It was a gorgeous day and started to lightly snow while the sun was still blasting through the windows. These two were absolutely precious and I wish them luck.

Lastly, I promised myself I would update my son's portraits ever 3 months until he turns two then I will do every 6 months. Well he turned 15 months and it was time for an update. No matter who the kid is in this picture, this is one of my favorite pictures ever and I have it blown up on my wall.

I am so happy I started this business. I am able to help families capture these precious moments at a low price and I am constantly offering deals/discounts/giveaways. But not only am I helping other people, I am capturing my child and family grow up so that we will never forget the time AJ had a bad hair cut (like now), or when he had chicken pox, his first date, his first girlfriend, his first car and the birth of my first grandchildren.

Don't forget how important it is to update your portraits. When you have perished from the earth you want your children and grandchildren to look back and say "wow, that was my mother/father/grandmother/grandfather. And because of these pictures I will never forget what they looked like".

Last year review #2 (July-Sept)

I hope you enjoyed my last blog and look forward to my others. This is #2 of 4.

Last July I gave away 2 mini sessions so I could, you guested it, get more practice. These two pictures are the result of that give-a-way.

Remember that maternity session I did for my second session in April? Well, she had the baby, and I got to photograph her at 4 days new.

What a cutie pie?!

I was then asked to photograph my big brother/sister (from my business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi). I was asked to be in her wedding as well and was honored to be taking her pictures. She was married last Friday May 11.

I also did two newborn sessions

...an engagement session

... a wedding for a high school friend - and it was GORGEOUS!!!

and a little girls beautiful 18 month session.

Then it was time. My son turned one and I took a "one year mini session" any where we went. We did one at the beach and one at the playground. We also did a cake smash (my first and only so far).

That's enough for the night. Stand by for more.

Review of last year #1 (April-June)

I wanted to display my favorite picture captured during each session I had over the past year. Problem is I have 57 sessions to cover. So I am going to do it by quarter. Stay tuned over the next few posts to see them all.

My very first session was someone who was recommended by my friend Catherine. She knew I was just starting to get into the business and wanted to use me anyway. This is my favorite picture from the session.

My second session seriously impressed even myself. After this session I KNEW I was meant for photography. Even though it was family (my sister) I knew I had to prove myself not just for her but for myself and my growth as a photographer.

These are a few more I had taken for friends to get practice.

                                                                  ....a graduation

...a 2 year portrait session

...a 10 month old session

                                                                 ...and a family session.

After these I was asked to shoot my first wedding. It was for a very good friend of mine and I was proud. I of course agreed but so nervous and was so afraid of messing up. Although I know I could have done better with more practice I am still proud of my work.

A co-worker was given a much deserved new position and had bought her own home! As a house warming and Congratulations, I decided I would do a photo shoot for her and her kids.

Ummm Can you say GORGEOUS?!

I also agreed to shoot my friends twins while I was in Richmond for a wedding. This was one of the most difficult session I did at first because well they are twins and BOYS. But they were fun and kept me on my toes.

...Exploring...

And last but not least for this blog was my dear friends engagement session. I was just in their wedding on May 5 and it was gorgeous. I was honored to have my work on the save the date, as their guest book and hanging on their walls at home.

Keep looking for more pictures...
